Civics: Bill of Rights Musical Assignment
Are there alternative ways of learning, and remembering, the Bill of Rights? The assignment for this sophmore Civics class was to take the first 10 Constitutional amendments and turn them into either a children's book, a play, story/poem, or any genre of song and set it to music. This very talented student chose to create a rap, which he performed in front of the class. You can tell by his lyrics he put a lot of time and creativity into his work.

World History: Greek Bag Mask Theater
Ancient Greeks are known for their use of the theater to glorify their gods. What better way to have students show what they know about the unit than to have them create skits of various Greek topics (i.e. the Persian Wars, Art and Architecture, Alexander the Great, etc.)? Oh, and did I mention, they do it with paper bags on their heads? Students had a blast drawing their favorite characters on the bags--especially since they didn't yet know they'd have to be "in character" for the skits! It's amazing the artwork students can create when given the opportunity...
